Inkwell Carriage House
Willful Machine

Sarona spent almost two months retrofitting, repairing, and upgrading a double-decker carriage that had been abandoned. She got it at a great bargain because it was so broken at the time, but she knew with some long hours and bartering she could get the supplies she needed to fix it. It is now a large mobile home that is actually mobile. It stays in place because fuel/energy is expensive, but she does move it around Willful Machine as needed.

Inside, it's somewhat cluttered, but the ceilings are taller than one might think from the outside. Saeri made sure to make it so she can walk around without having to stay bent over. There is a long counter with cabinets under it to one side covered in tools and supplies, some things are even hanging from the ceiling in hanging shelves and bowls. There's a wooden loft-ladder leading to the second floor that is lowered by a crank built into the wall. When the ladder isn't lowered there is a loveseat that can be pulled out from the wall for seating and a low, but long coffee table next to it.

There are two sets of long curtains. One leads to the kitchenette and bathroom, with a stove, counter, sink, and icebox on one side and a wooden sliding partition that separates it from the bathroom (water is collected in a purification drum when it rains and snows or from Saeri getting the water herself through buckets). The other curtain leads to the cab of the carriage, where the steering is located but the seats can be adjusted to turn it into into a makeshift eating area with a fold-out table.

The stairs lead up to the second floor loft area of the carriage house which is a study room, with walls covered in built-in bookshelves that are being filled with books, notebooks, schematics and designs for various projects and runes that Sarona is working on, and then the small bedroom which is mainly a bed that can fold out from the wall specially designed for Saeri because of her height. There is also a ladder in the study that leads up to the tower at the top of the carriage house.

Fireproof metal piping is built around the carriage house to feed the heat from the stove up onto the second floor without everything being set on fire. She intends to install some heating runes when she has enough of her blood collected from small lettings to make the right amount of ink.
