[a bit later there comes a rough sketch of the steed in profile looking as if at any moment it might rear into the air - swirling, spitting shadows around it reminiscent of an omen. as suggested, there's a figure in darkened leather mounted on the beast, one arm outstretched finger pointing, hovering over the horn, a bright green drop of blood caught mid-fall just above. it's all black and gray work, save for the muted slashes of pink visible from the hood.]

[Saeri looks over the sketch and admires the skill and the messy chaos of it that puts so much life into the figures.]

Simidele is a rainbow-eye mountain lion. He's a glorified peacock in the shape of a demon panther. Feathers and all.

He's the worst cat I've ever met. He plays fetch and wants everyone to pet him.

Are batcats better than regular cats or worse? Do they fly around your house to keep you up and knock all your stuff onto the floor?

[And not to be one-upped, she draws a quick sketch herself. Of Vi with her jacket off and her tattoos even sketchier but accurate enough. Her arm is up ready to throw what looks like a ball. And in front of her is a huge panther almost as big as Vi herself, covered in feathers with large wings, sitting on its hind legs and forepaws up and begging.]

[As if everything that happened between her and Vi at Ursula's wasn't extremely hardball and intimate in ways that she can't fully explain. So instead she sends two sketches, one of Vi being carried off by a huge catbat. Then second a continuation of the huge catbat hanging upside with Vi wrapped in its wings.]

yeah youre kinda hard mode not the hardest but i hear sometimes hard mode is worth the trouble

[do not say cupcakes do not say cupcakes - vi is a bit spun by this statement - she is completely unused to being perceived in this way and doesn't know what to make of it. also, it hurts a little, so naturally she will deflect with a flirt because she's already a mess.

and these sketches are adorable. she doesn't know what to make of them either, but that's fine. they don't make her feel bad. or worse. that's ...she'll take it. it's better than fine, actually. she will ask to see them in person at some point.]

He lets me sometimes. He's so squirmy though.

["Worth it" isn't really something she hears much about herself. She knows people who would consider her "worth it," but most people don't say it. Except Romero. And maybe Vi should really stop reminding her of Romero because that's just a bad omen for their not-relationship.]

If you beat the game on hard mode, does that mean you get bonus prizes?

[that is forward enough that vi just stops. stares at her omni. she should say ...something. she shouldn't be doing this at all, really, because this is her friend - and sure, yes, that friend is hot, but there's a lot of eye candy in trench, and she doesn't want to make a mess of things.
